A 25 years old, street hawker has been rescued from commiting suicide in Lagos .
The man, Rabiu Nafiu ,had wanted to jump into Lagos Lagoon at the Third mainland Bridge .
It was gathered that Operatives of Rapid Response Squad (RRS) of the Lagos State Police Command saw Nafiu attempting to jump into the lagoon and decided to stop him.
It was gathered further that Nafiu threatened to kill anyone who would make attempt to restrain him from committing suicide .
According to another hawker, “Nafiu, who on sighting the RRS officers approaching him, warned them not to restrain him from jumping. The officers managed to calm him down before getting him off the edge of the bridge”.
A senior police officer who spoke on the condition of anonymity ,said the man has been transferred to RRS Headquarters,Aluasa, on the instruction of Commander RRS, CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi.
