The Enugu State Police Command has intensified its crackdown on criminal activities, raiding a suspected hideout in the New Artisan area of Enugu, arresting a suspect, and dismantling drug hubs.
Enugu state police public relations officer SP Daniel Ndukwe, in a statement yesterday, explained that the operation was carried out around midnight on April 5, 2026, by operatives attached to the Anti-Cultism Tactical Squad, following actionable intelligence.
According to the Command, the raid led to the arrest of a 29-year-old suspect, Francisco Olugba.
Items recovered from him include “quantities of suspected Cannabis Sativa, bags containing clothes reasonably suspected to have been stolen from victims, eleven SIM cards of various network providers, a pair of scissors, and other exhibits.”
Police authorities said the operation extended beyond the arrest, targeting structures believed to serve as centres for drug peddling and consumption.
