Detectives from the Rapid Response Squad (RRS), Abia State unit have raided a baby factory in Aba, the commercial hub of Abia State and made some arrests as well as rescued some victims.

A release signed by the command’s police public relations officer (PPRO), Maureen Chinaka disclosed that on March 7, the RRS detectives, on receiving credible intelligence, raided an alleged baby factory in Aba and arrested two persons, Mrs. Onyinyechi Okoro, 29, from Ihechiowa in Arochukwu Local Government of Abia State and Ekene Okezie, 32, from Arondizuogu in Ideato North Local Government Area of Imo state.

The operatives were reported to have rescued 16 pregnant women whose ages ranged from 17 to 27 years.

Equally rescued were eight children who were in the age bracket of 2 to 11 years.

The PPRO could not give the exact address of the baby factory, saying making it public now might jeopardize police investigation.

She appealed to the general public to be security conscious and always report people engaging in criminal activities to the police.
