Police present N25m cheques to 29 families of deceased officers

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command said it has disbursed N25 million to families of 29 deceased police officers of the ranks of Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASP), Inspectors, Sergeants, and civilian staff attached to the command between 2020 and 2021. The cheques, the Command said, was paid to the Next of Kins of the deceased officers at a ceremony held at the Command Headquarters in Abuja.

Police Public Relations Officer of the command, Josephine Adeh, who made this known, said the Commissioner of Police, Babaji Sunday, while commiserating with the families over the loss, said the money was to support them and urged them to make good use of it.

Adeh, in a statement said: “In fulfilment of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Alkali Baba Usman’s family welfare insurance scheme policy, marked periodically by the approval and disbursements of insurance cheques, the FCT Commissioner of Police CP Babaji Sunday on Thursday 21st July 2022 distributed insurance cheques worth N25million
