Police post set up in OOU Ibogun campus

Commissioner of Police,  Ogun State Command, Bode Ojajuni, yesterday, visited the Ibogun Campus of Olabisi Onabanjo University to assess security on the area and meet stakeholders on improving safety within the institution and its host communities. Joined by DCP Operations ,Bolanle Muritala and Ifo Area Commander, ACP Seyi Williams, the CP held strategic talks with Vice Chancellor , Ayodeji Johnson Agboola, CEES Provost Bashir Olufemi Odufuwa, Oba Timothy Sowumi of Ibogun-Sowumi, school management, community leaders, and the Student Union Government.

Students, school authorities, and community representatives jointly presented concerns about security on campus and in surrounding areas, with all parties agreeing on the need for coordinated, practical solutions. CP Ojajuni assured stakeholders that the Command has assessed the situation and will immediately boost policing around the university through increased patrols, proactive strategies, and sustained stakeholder engagement to ensure a safe environment.

Following the visit, the CP announced the establishment of a police post around the university community to enhance rapid response, improve visibility, and strengthen community policing. He also engaged sister agencies including NSCDC, Amotekun Corps, and So-Safe Corps for better inter-agency collaboration. The CP later inspected the Ibogun Divisional Police Headquarters, reviewed operational readiness, and issued directives to improve efficiency and service delivery, reaffirming the Command’s commitment to community policing and inter-agency synergy.
