Police nab fake currency syndicate in Enugu with counterfeits

As cash crunch persists in Nigeria, a crack team of men of the Nigeria Police from the Igboeze South Division of Enugu State, have intercepted currency counterfeiters.

Daily Sun exclusively gathered that some members of the syndicate were nabbed in one of the rural communities of the local government with large wads of fake N1,000 denomination of the redesigned notes on Wednesday.

We further gathered that the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Igboeze South, identified as SP Kelechi, working on credible intelligence with his men burst the suspected criminal gang.

The rare feat was already being celebrated in the security circle even as the suspects were moved to the State Command headquarters, Enugu, on Thursday.
