Police nab 10 suspects at Osun lounge

Osun State Police Command  has disclosed the arrest of 10 suspects with five cars and 1O motorcycles at a lounge in Moro, Ife North Local Government  of the state.

Osun State Police  Public Relations Officer ( PPRO) Abiodun Ojelabi, in a statement yesterday ,disclosed that the suspects have been involved in cultism, kidnapping and thuggery.

The suspects are: Adebayo Olalekan , Hammed Abdullah, Olajide Opeyemi, Olushola Samson and Salako Opeyemi .

Others are: Majekodunmi Shefiu, Ganiyu Yusuf ,, Ridwan Temitope , Taofeek Yusuf and Babafemi Adelowo .

According to Ojelabi, exhibits recovered from the suspects are: two English Pump Action Guns, two locally made Pistols, one single barrel gun, 15 live cartridges, several empty shells, one unregistered Lexus RX 350, one Lexus RX 350 with number plate:LND 392 JZ, one Lexus ES 330 with registration  number:EPE 313 JL, two  unregistered Toyota Camry  and 10  motorcycles.

”At about 12:45am of  October, 2025, the Command received credible information from public-spirited citizens that some suspected multifaceted criminals i.e criminals involved in cultism, kidnapping, thuggery etc. were shooting sporadically and causing panic at Minnea polis Lounge located at Moro, ln Ife North LG, near Foreign Link Campus.

“Preliminary investigation revealed that the lounge has become criminal hide out, where they plan attacks within that environs. Upon receipt of the information, a team of Police Rapid Response Unit (PRU) operatives, led by the Commander, swiftly mobilized to the scene and on sighting the Police team, the suspected evil doers opened fire, but our gallant officers responded decisively and successfully repelled the attack without any casualty.

”A search and mop-up operation was conducted at the scene which led to the arrest of 10  suspects and the recovery of a large cache of arms, ammunition, vehicles and motorcycles. The supervisor and owner of the Lounge have been on the run,” Ojelabi said.
