Kano State Police Command has intercepted a pistol loaded with rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition
A statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, Abdullahi Haruna on Saturday indicated that the interception occurred at Rijiyar Zaki Motor park on the 13th August, 2026.
The statement disclosed that “upon search, one Tokarev pistol loaded with 48 rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition was recovered from a suspicious parcel of luggage.”
“During interrogation, the suspect confessed to having bought the firearm and ammunition from another State, and was forwarding the same to someone in another State” he said.

The statement disclosed that investigation was ongoing to trail and apprehend other accomplices in the illegal arms supply chain.
The police similarly announced the arrest of five suspected armed robbers in Jajaye Village, Rogo LGA.
The suspects, aged between 21 to 25 included Basiru Ibrahim, Saidu Madaki, Sa’adu Ibrahim , Lawan Yusuf and Muktar Salisu.
The police revealed that preliminary investigation had revealed that the suspects had been involved in four (4) different cases of criminal trespass, criminal conspiracy, and armed robbery within Jajaye Village and environs, which resulted in various degrees of grievous injuries to victims.
The suspects, the police said had also confessed to have stolen about five (5) motorcycles and other valuable properties.
