Chairman  Police Service Commission Deputy Inspector General of  Police Mr Hashimu Argungu has reinforced its commitment to human rights within Law.

We have underscored the importance of upholding the dignity on every arrested individual , advocating for policies that protect citizens for inhumane treatment during detention.

DIG Argungu highlighted the police service role in enforcing accountability and transparency in practices like stop, searches, arrests, police custody and pre-trial detention. The police officers must adhere strictly to these guidelines , ensuring that individuals are not unduly detained or subjected to physical restraints without justifiable cause.

Meanwhile, The Commission would continue to partner with the police to ensure that it succeeds in the primary duty of protecting lives and property as well as curbing crime and criminality.

DIG Argungu appealed for the support of the committee in  ensuring adequate  budgetary provision for the commission. The Constitutional responsibility of the commission has suffered  due to financial incapacitation, The commission to improve the service of the Nigeria police force through credible and efficient. The new leadership of the new commission has zero tolerance for corruption and has Lauches the whistle blowing policy initiative that empowers individuals to report unethical behavior within the police service commission and the Nigeria police force.
