Akwa Ibom State Police Command has arrested a suspected thief identified as David Ededet Okon and recovered several items belonging to church and other members of the public.
A statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer in the state DSP Timfon John and made available to Journalists in Uyo stated that alleged thief hails from Mbiabam in Ibiono Ibom local government area of the state .
According to the police spokesperson, items recovered include 4 set of drums, 6 guitars,15 mixers, 2 equalizers, 2 amplifiers and 25 loud speakers , key boards , microphones among others .
John also listed other items suspected to have been stolen from the residents in the area as 8 gas cylinders, 2 ovens, 2 gas cookers, 1 stabilizer, 1 washing machine and 5 compact disc alongside other household appliances.
The command also urged members of the public to come out, identify their property with genuine receipts, other proofs of ownership and claims them .
“The Command calls on members of the public who lost their properties to report to the Command Headquarters with evidence of ownership and claim the items.”

She said investigations are ongoing to arrest other members of the gang who are at large.
“Meanwhile, investigations are ongoing to arrest the suspect’s accomplice, one Sanusi (other names unknown) who is still at large.”
