Police arrest man for beating father to death in Ondo

A 38-year-old man, Nsikak Kingsley, has been arrested by the police in Ondo State for allegedly beating his father, Adone Peter, to death at Oda Community in Akure South Local Government Area of the state.

Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, DSP Abayomi Jimoh disclosed this in a Thursday statement.

He said the suspect had engaged in a violent altercation with his 65-year-old father that degenerated into physical assault.

The statement reads, “The Ondo State Police Command under the leadership of the Commissioner of Police, CP Felix Ohagwu, has arrested a 38-year-old man, identified as Nsikak Kingsley for his alleged involvement in the death of his biological father, Adone Peter, aged 65 years.

“The tragic incident occurred in Oda Community, Akure South Local Government Area of Ondo State and has generated widespread concern among residents of the area.

“Preliminary investigation revealed that on 28th May, 2026, the suspect allegedly engaged his father in a violent altercation which escalated into a physical assault. During the confrontation, the deceased reportedly sustained severe injuries, particularly to the head. He was immediately rushed to a medical facility for urgent medical attention.

“Sadly, despite efforts by medical personnel, the attending doctor confirmed him dead while receiving treatment.”

Jimoh further disclosed that the command nabbed the suspect after his brother lodged a complaint at a nearby police station, after which the operatives swung into action.
