The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a man,Best Orji, 39 ,for allegedly defiling his two biological daughters. The survivors were between the ages of 12 and 14 when the crime was committed.
The case of the abuse was reported on April 30, 2025, by the children’s mother.
Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer ( PPRO),CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, at a press briefing yesterday, at Command headquarters, Ikeja,said the complainant alleged that her husband committed the act in Suru- Lere area of the state .

“Upon receiving the report, police swiftly apprehended the suspect. A medical examination was conducted on the victims at a Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC).
“ Following the investigation, the suspect, Best Orji, was arraigned in court on May 9, 2025, to face charges of defilement, under Section 137 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.
“ The Command, under the leadership of CP Olohundare Moshood Jimoh, has reiterated its unwavering commitment to reducingcrime and criminality in the state.
The Command,assures residents and visitors that it shall continue to optimise the management and deployment of human and operational resources across the state.”
