Men of the Plateau State Police Command on Wednesday arrested a man impersonating a soldier in the Angwan Rukuba community of Jos North Local Government Area, the hotbed of the recent killings in the state.
The suspect, who was paraded by the State Commissioner of Police, CP Bassey Ewah, was promptly taken into custody.
Police Public Relations Officer SP Alfred Alabo said the fake soldier was apprehended while security men were on patrol in Angwan Rukuba.
He said that the suspect is a useful lead in the effort to arrest those who perpetrated the mayhem in the area.
Meanwhile, the police, in conjunction with operatives of Operation Enduring Peace, are intensifying efforts to restore normalcy in Jos following the recent deadly attack in Angwan Rukuba.
