The Management of the National Youth Service Corps(NYSC) in Plateau State has announced the relocation of Orientation Camp from it’s Permanent site in Mangu to Waye Foundation in Doi-Du Jos South Local Government area of Plateau State.
The development is occasion by the fear of possible attacks following the growing number of attacks on innocent communities in Mangu Local Government Area of the State by suspected bandits in recent times that claimed so many lives and properties destroyed.
The Director of Press and Public Relations of NYSC in the state, Eddy Megwa fnipr in a statement on Monday said the venue of the 2023 Batch ‘B’ Stream One Orientation Camp for Plateau State is now at Waye Foundation, by Buken Academy Doi-Du.
Prospective Corps Members have been told to kindly take note that the Temporary NYSC Orientation Camp is now in Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State and are expected to resume there as specified on their letters.
The statement reads, “This is to inform Members of the public, especially our esteemed Prospective Corps Members that the venue of the 2023 Batch ‘B’ Stream One Orientation Camp for Plateau State has been changed from the Permanent Orientation Camp in Mangu to Waye Foundation, by Buken Academy Doi-Du (Temporary NYSC Orientation Camp) in
Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State.
“All Prospective Corps Members are by this information expected to report at the new Orientation Camp (Waye Foundation by Buken Academy) on the dates specified in their call-up letters.”
The Plateau State Commissioner of Police CP Bartholomew Onyeka was alongside other security chiefs at the temporary Camp on Monday.
The Police PPRO, DSP Alfred Alabo speaking to Daily Sun Newspaper said the visit is to assessed the facility as well as the entire environment towards the safety of all Prospective Corps Members posted to Plateau State by the NYSC.
