The Berom Youth Moulders-Association (BYM), has confirmed the killing of a security operative along the Kwi-Beco road in Barkin Ladi local government area of Plateau state.
National Publicity Secretary of BYM, Rwang Tengwong, said in a statement that the security operative was killed on his way to his duty post along the road..
He said that the incident occurred at about 7pm on Thursday around Kwi, between Riyom and Barkin Ladi local government areas of the state.
The security operative was reportedly travelling on a motorcycle to his duty post in the Chit area of Heipang when he was attacked and killed and his bike stolen
.
Tengwong described it as disturbing., saying that the raised serious concerns about the safety of civilians in the affected communities.
He said it was particularly more troubling that security personnel deployed to protect residents were themselves vulnerable to attacks.
The BYM spokesman called for urgent measures to address the security challenges confronting communities in the area.
