Plateau: Gamai endorses Lalong for Plateau South election

The Gamai Unity and Development Organisation (GUD) in Plateau State have endorsed the candidacy of Governor Simon Lalong for the Plateau Southern senatorial zone.

President of the group Albert Kelong Alkali disclosed this on Thursday in Jos, saying they took the decision following the achievements of Governor Lalong as Governor of Plateau State.

According to the group, the achievements include the completion of many abandoned projects by previous administrations, the creation of districts and chiefdoms, prompt payment of salaries as well as the establishment of organisations to tackle various sectors among others.

Alkali described Lalong as the ray of hope for the people and expressed it’s commitment to pursue their cause with vigor, protect it’s values and defend it’s identify as a nation.

He called on the people of the zone and the state at large to be law abiding and peaceful during the elections, while calling on INEC to ensure the unimpeded conduct of free, fair and credible elections where every vote counts.

“GUDO NEC has passed a resounding VOTE OF CONFIDENCE and without let and reservation hereby endorse the RT. Hon. Dr. Simon Bako Lalong to be electes as Senator Representing Plateau Southern senatorial zone in the Saturday the 25th of February, 2023 National Assembly.

“GUDO is calling on all the peace-loving people of Shendam, Wase, Langtang-South, Langtang North Mikang and Qua’an-Pan LGA to come out en-masse to vote for our candidate of choice.

“We implore our people to be law abiding and peaceful during the forthcoming general elections, whilst calling on INEC to ensure the unimpeded conduct of free, fair and credible elections where every vote counts,” he stated.
