The Plateau State Ministry of Education has uncovered a grand plan by a cult group named Black Axe to recruit and induct primary pupils and secondary school students into its membership across the federation, under the guise of a non governmental organisation.
The Commissioner for Education Hon. Dr. Kacholom Gang, through the Deputy Director, Public-Private Partnership, Lafa Longs Lamvong, has called for vigilance among school owners.
The moves by the cult group is said to be part of their activity designed to commemorate the group’s Founder’s Day, where they are meant to elect new leaders across the nation.
In the letter titled; “Black Axe Confraternity plans to recruit primary-secondary school children in Plateau State,” the ministry copied all zonal directors, area directors, and principals across the state over the subject matter.
The statement reads in part: “Intelligence indicates that a secret cult named ‘The Black Axe Confraternity (Alias Aye)’ plans to secretly embark on mass recruitment of students/Pupils as members of the Confraternity across the federation, including Plateau State”.
