Two people were killed and two others seriously injured gunmen attacked Rim Village in Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State, on Tuesday night

The attacks shot sporadically for several minutes where they operated freely without any intervention.

Eye witness in the community say that the attackers invaded the village around 10 30 pm, firing gunshots indiscriminately before fleeing into the surrounding bushes.

The two injured victims were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment

National Publicity Secretary of the Berom Youth Movement (BYM), Rwang Tengwong, while confirming the incident, told newsmen in Jos that the community was thrown into panic by the sudden attack.

“Gunmen stormed Rim Village around 10 pm on Tuesday night and opened fire sporadically. As of now, two people have been confirmed killed while two others sustained injuries and were rushed to the hospital,” Tengwong said.

Tengwong described the attack as another sad episode in the recurring spate of attacks not only in the community, but in all other parts of the state.

He called on security agencies to intensify patrols and bring the perpetrators to justice.

Spokesman of the Plateau Police command SP Alfred Alabo could not be reached for comments as efforts to get him were not successful.
