Organisers of the annual Nigeria Pitch Awards, Lenders Consults International, have revealed plan to organise an annual Sports Conference as their contribution to the development of sports in Nigeria.
President of Nigeria Pitch Awards, Dr. Shina Philips, at a media parley yesterday, in Lagos revealed that the conference would precede the annual award ceremony, with local and international speakers expected to contribute to the discussions.
“Our vision is to make the gathering a unique opportunity to renew and refocus national attention on sports in Nigeria and open up avenues for administrators to harness the opportunities sports provide,” Philips explained.
Philip also announced that voting for the 12th edition of the Nigeria Pitch Awards would begin on Wednesday and close on November 18 with the winners to be unveiled at a ceremony in Lagos on December 22.
He expressed the organisers’ appreciation to the National Sports Commission, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), their partners as well as the voters and the winners for supports over the years.
