Reality TV star Phyna and skit maker Carter Efe emerged winners in the celebrity boxing bouts at Balmoral Promotions’ Chaos in the Ring event held at the Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, on October 1, 2026.

Ghanaian boxer Seth “Freezy Macbones” Gyimah also defeated Godday “Zodsolo” Appah in the main event.

Phyna, whose real name is Josephina Otabor, knocked out actress Nkechi Blessing in their scheduled four-round contest, becoming the winner of Nigeria’s first female celebrity boxing bout.

Speaking after the fight, the former Big Brother Naija winner named Nollywood actress Etinosa Idemudia as her next target, alleging that she had been disturbing her through direct messages.

“I came in, and I kept my cool and did the thing. Now I would like to fight Etinosa. I think it is time I teach her a lesson,” Phyna said.

Etinosa, who watched from ringside as Phyna knocked out Nkechi Blessing, readily accepted the challenge.

“I have been advising you to carry the Edo name with pride. We do not run from any fight. I accept the challenge fully,” she said.

Phyna also received ₦50m as the winner of the historic bout and indicated that she intends to pursue professional boxing, suggesting that her victory over Nkechi Blessing could mark the beginning of a longer career in the sport.

In the second celebrity bout, Carter Efe dominated Speed Darlington throughout their four-round crossover contest, stopping the musician, who had stopped moving, to win by technical knockout.

The victory extended Efe’s unbeaten run in the Chaos in the Ring celebrity boxing series.

Efe had previously defeated singer Habeeb “Portable” Badmus in a celebrity boxing contest on May 1, 2026, at Balmoral Hall, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, winning the three-round bout by unanimous decision after all three judges scored it 30-27 in his favour.

The rivalry between Efe and Speed Darlington had intensified before their October meeting, with the two entertainers exchanging confrontational remarks during the build-up before settling their differences inside the ring.

In the main event, Appah lost his WBO African Light Heavyweight Continental Championship to Gyimah, who won by unanimous decision to dethrone the Nigerian champion.

The event brought together celebrity entertainers and professional boxers for a night of high-profile contests, rivalries and championship action. It was broadcast live on SuperSport and DAZN, with the card powered by Bet9ja.
