A philanthropist, Mr Charles Oguibe, has fulfilled his promise to construct an adoration prayer house for his people at Eziama, Ngor Okpala council area of Imo State.

Oguibe at the weekend laid a foundation for the construction of the prayer house named “Chapel of Perpetual Adoration”, an annexe of the Christ the King Catholic Church, Eziama.

In his homily earlier during a Thanksgiving mass to commemorate the church, Rev Fr Innocent Uwa emphasised that “prayerful Thanksgiving is always the surest way of obtaining mercy and favour of the lord.”

The priest added that “every living owes God his/her thanksgiving, just as Mr Charles and family did.”

Oguibe, giving reasons for his philanthropic gesture, stated: “I would have been long dead but God saved me from the lion’s den, I was only saved by the mighty stronghold of God, that’s why I’m thanking God.

“Mercy of God kept me alive and cared for me. I owe Him all thanks and adoration”. That was why I took the decision with my family to erect for God a place of worship in the church premises”. He said.

Meanwhile, old boys of St Peter Claver Seminary, Nguru, 1983/1988 set has honoured Oguibe for his contributions to humanity and outstanding qualities in the banking sector.
