Atiku Abubakar, the 2023 Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, stated Thursday that President Bola Tinubu’s administration’s haphazard approach to fuel subsidy management is responsible for Nigeria’s present economic crisis.

According to Atiku, Tinubu is unconcerned about the hardships that Nigerians face.

Atiku was reacting to the recent increase in fuel pump prices by the National Petroleum Company Limited, (NNPCL).

NNPCL increased the pump price of petrol from N897 to N1,030 in Abuja and from N855 to N998 in Lagos.

However, Atiku criticized Tinubu’s apparent reticence on the country’s present economic challenges.

Atiku on his X account, wrote: “The haphazard and disingenuous approach of the current administration to fuel subsidy management has been the reason we are in this current economic crisis in the country.

“As things stand, there will be no let up in the escalating inflation rate, which is drowning the material well-being of Nigerians.

“It is even more worrying that T-pain is undisturbed by the hardship in the country.”
