Enugu, Nigeria – Former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has announced his move to the African Democratic Congress (ADC), sending shockwaves of hope across the nation.

In a press statement, Dr. John Nwokeabia, a former Labour Party deputy governorship candidate, hailed Obi’s leadership as a “cooling relief of truth and nourishment of hope.”

He urged Nigerians to join forces with Obi, saying, “The journey to 2027 has begun today, on the last day of 2025. Let us build this New Nigeria.”

In a speech at the Nike Lake Resort in Enugu, Obi presented a vision of transformative leadership, emphasizing productive governance, intellectual depth, and unassailable character. He drew parallels with Rwanda’s economic miracle, highlighting Nigeria’s stagnation despite its vast resources.

” Nigeria is not a poor country; it is a poorly managed one,” Obi said, decrying the current state of insecurity, hunger, and inflation.

However, Nwokeabia praised Obi’s unique combination of frugality, intellectual depth, and character, saying he is the leader to rescue Nigeria. He called on Nigerians at home and abroad to resist attempts to undermine democracy and join the “Journey to Rescue.”

The move to ADC is seen as a tactical consolidation of “good-spirited Nigerians” who refuse to be divided by tribal or religious tropes. Obi’s leadership is expected to bring a new era of hope and renewal to Nigeria.
