After a decade of supporting entrepreneurs and expanding access to finance for underserved Nigerians, Pecantrust Microfinance Bank said it is deepening its commitment to financial inclusion as it celebrates its 10th anniversary.
The lender, which has grown to serve more than 100,000 customers across its target markets, will commemorate the milestone with a gala today (Saturday) at the Grand Ballroom of Eko Hotel & Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, under the theme,’ A Decade of Bridging Gaps and Building Trust’.
Reflecting on the bank’s journey, its Senior Manager and spokesperson, Mr. Kunle Karounwi, said Pecantrust was established to bridge the financing gap confronting individuals, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and emerging businesses that struggled to access prompt and flexible financial solutions.
According to him, the institution has remained focused on promoting financial inclusion while pursuing its vision of becoming Africa’s leading poverty alleviation provider through innovative financial services.
“Over the past decade, we’ve evolved into a resilient institution committed to empowering businesses, supporting economic development and creating lasting value.
“Celebrating 10 years is not just about longevity; it represents a decade of delivering impact and earning the trust of thousands,” Karounwi said.
He described the bank’s growth as a story of resilience, innovation and steady expansion despite economic headwinds and changing regulatory policies.
Karounwi said the bank has built a reputable fintech brand through customer-focused products designed to meet the needs of Nigerians, including PecanPlus Micro Health Insurance, financial literacy programmes and tailored SME loans.
He added that Pecantrust MFB has expanded from a small team into a workforce of more than 30 professionals, while strengthening its capital base through prudent financial management, shareholder support, retained earnings and strategic reinvestment.
Karounwi said all arrangements had been concluded for the anniversary gala, which will bring together captains of industry, government officials and other stakeholders to celebrate the bank’s decade of promoting inclusive finance and supporting businesses across Nigeria.
