Speaking on his reason for dedicating the award to Governor Fubara, Pepple who holds a doctorate degree in his field, said: “His Excellency has shown me the true meaning of peace and responsible service. This recognition is a reflection of the lessons I have learned under his influence.”

The effusive comments were made in appreciation of the visionary decision of Governor Fubara to establish and fund a scholarship scheme on aviation training for young indigenes of Rivers State, which is managed by Eastwing Aviation Foundation.

In a statement, the organizers of the described Pepple as a highly skilled aviation executive and scholar, who oversees operational safety, crew development, and strategic aviation management needs of the Rivers State government, adding that he is known for combining deep technical expertise with a calm, principled leadership style. He has long been regarded as a steady influence within the state’s aviation operations.

“Beyond aviation, Capt. Pepple is a respected voice in peace and development advocacy, who regularly contributes to discussions within the United Nations ECOSOC community, offering thoughtful perspectives on fairness, development, and human dignity.”

The award celebrates individuals who show exceptional commitment to promoting harmony and protecting human rights. According to the organizers, has made consistent calls for fairness, ethical leadership, and peaceful coexistence.

Pepple, it was further noted, was chosen for using his platform to promote integrity, accountability, and respect for human rights. His leadership has helped create environments where transparency is expected and people feel acknowledged.

“What has always set him apart,” one programme coordinator explained, “is his refusal to bend on principles. He has shown that leadership is first about character, then influence.”

Alongside his peace advocacy, Pepple has played an important, largely understated role in youth development, particularly through the Rivers State Government’s aviation scholarship.

Speaking after the presentation, Pepple described the moment as “a deep honour and a humbling reminder of the responsibility that comes with service.”

He said the recognition has strengthened his resolve to support peace, justice, and respect for every individual value he has held throughout his professional and academic journey.

Working in support of Governor Fubara’s vision, he helped steer an initiative that offered Rivers youths training opportunities in AW139 engineering, aimed at building local capacity in a field that urgently needs qualified professionals. Ten young indigenes have already completed their training, selected through a transparent, merit-based process announced publicly. “The programme is a strategic investment in economic growth, global relevance, and the future of Rivers youths,” Pepple said.
