PDP’s Venatius Ikem pledges to bridge gaps at the national level

From Aniekan Aniekan, Calabar

The Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party in Cross River State, Venatius Ikem, has pledged to bridge the gaps at the national level of the party and ensure party unity.

He made this commitment at the State Secretariat of the party in Calabar after being sworn in for another term alongside 38 other elected party executives.

He said that though the party is doing well at the state level, at the national level, the party is squandering its opportunities.

“At the top, we are tearing our opportunities, and I think it’s the responsibility of this executive under my leadership to be able to bridge these gaps from today.

“It behoves us to sit down, eschew some personal issues, focus on the core challenges before us and harness our opportunities,” he said.

He added that the pathway to the exco is usually turbulent and said they are blessed to have the opportunity to serve again.

He acknowledged the contributions of party leaders who stood with them through the turbulent times and that the new executive hopes to rejig the party and unite it ahead of 2027.
