From Sylvanus Viashima, Jalingo
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship campaign in Taraba State says it will rely on its existing structure and what it described as the failure of Governor Agbu Kefas’s administration to win in 2027.
Director of Media and Publicity of the campaign team for Senator Emmanuel Bwacha, William Ayoosu, said this in Jalingo while speaking to journalists. He said the team was sensitising residents to vote and protect their votes.
Ayoosu claimed the administration had not delivered tangible development in nearly four years despite a revenue windfall for states, and said Tarabans must choose between continuing with it and electing an experienced grassroots politician.
He acknowledged that incumbency and access to state funds could pose some challenge, but said voters know they can accept money and still vote for their preferred candidates.
Ayoosu said the PDP has won every Taraba governorship election since 1999 and its structure remains intact despite defections to the All Progressives Congress (APC). He added that the party backs President Bola Tinubu’s reelection bid, so federal might cannot be used against it.
