The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has vowed to win all available seats for the 2027 general elections in Bayelsa State.

The state chairman, Hon Alabh George Turnah, who served as the state collation officer for the PDP presidential primaries, in an interview, said the party is contesting the 2027 elections to win.

According to him, PDP would field candidates for all available seats from the State to the National Assembly and would win.

Turnah, while reaffirming the commitment of PDP to internal democracy, expressed happiness with the conducive atmosphere created for opposition parties’ activities in Bayelsa.

On the number of PDP members that voted in the presidential primaries, the Chairman pointed out that it was not a case of low turnout, but the issue has to do with complying with the electoral guidelines, which specified that the e-register would form the basis of those to participate in the direct primaries.

‘’I want to reaffirm the commitment of the Bayelsa PDP leadership to internal democracy, inclusiveness, and a credible electoral process. I have confidence that the party remains well-positioned for victory in the 2027 general elections. What gladdens my heart is the enthusiasm of members across the state who turned out in large numbers.

‘’I commend all political leaders and actors in the state. The various political parties have held their primaries, which have been rancour-free. We are getting politically mature in the state. The tolerance level is commendable. I also want to commend the governor as the Chief Security Officer of the state for the peaceful atmosphere.

‘’ We are in the 2027 elections to win. Anytime from now, we are going to roll out our strategies, and then we will mobilise the people of Bayelsa for victory. We are ready, willing, and set to win all seats available.’’
