From Paul Orude, Bauchi
The National Working Committee (NWC) and the 2025 National Convention Organizing Committee (NCOC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have reaffirmed that the party’s National Convention will hold as scheduled on Saturday, November 15 to Sunday, November , in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
This clarification was contained in a statement signed by Hon. Debo Ologunagba, the National Publicity Secretary of the PDP and Secretary of the Publicity and Communication Subcommittee of the NCOC.
The statement, which was made available to journalists in Bauchi by the State Commissioner for Information, Usman Shehu Usman, urged party members and the general public to disregard reports suggesting that the convention had been postponed.

“The NWC and the NCOC call on all members of our great party and Nigerians at large to ignore misleading claims being circulated by some individuals allegedly recruited by the All Progressives Congress (APC) in a futile attempt to scuttle the PDP National Convention,” the statement read in part.
It further accused the All Progressive Congress (APC) of plotting to destabilize the opposition and impose a one-party state in Nigeria—an agenda the PDP vowed to resist through lawful means.
The statement assured that the NCOC and the party leadership are working tirelessly to ensure a hitch-free and successful convention in Ibadan as planned.
While expressing appreciation to Nigerians for their continued support, the NCOC welcomed delegates, party leaders, officials, and supporters who have begun arriving in Ibadan for the convention.
