PDP crisis: Pro Wike faction takes over Wadata Plaza

From Ndubuisi Orji, Abuja

Factional Acting National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Muhammed Abdulrahman has moved into the party’s national secretariat, Wadata Plaza.

Abdulrahman, who was named acting national chairman by a faction of the PDP National Working Committee (NWC) last Saturday, was accompanied into the Secretariat by party supporters and security operatives.

The PDP NWC, led by Umar Damagum, had, last Saturday, announced the suspension of National Secretary Samuel Anyanwu, National Legal Adviser Kamaldeen Ajibade (SAN), Deputy Legal Adviser Okechukwu Osuoha, and National Organising Secretary Umar Bature for one month over alleged anti-party activities.

However, Anyanwu, in a swift reaction after a meeting with another group of NWC members, announced the suspension of Damagum and five other national officers for one month. And named Abdulrahman, who is the National Vice Chairman, North Central, as the acting chairman.
