The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has condemned the killing of Chief Ubochi’ Onwei.
The state PDP Chairman, Chukwuma Igwe, condemned the killing and called for investigation into the murder.
“A man was killed in Ohaukwu on Monday because they endorsed an APGA candidate. The man they killed is an old man for that matter. His killing is part of making the governor’s threat real that no opposition should hold any meeting in the state.

“We are concerned about what is happening in the state. We have written to the security agencies to help us and talk to the governor and his supporters.
“They should allow everyone to campaign for support, and I think that’s how politics is done. As for us, we have decided to toe the path of peace and believe that security agencies should advise the state government to allow everybody to campaign. Let’s have a level playing field, whoever wins should take it.
“The ruling party is agitated, they are worried, and they are like nobody should campaign or hold any meeting, targeting the opposition, and that’s what we are witnessing”, he said.
