A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Sokoto, Alhaji Yusuf Dingyadi, has commanded Governor Ahmed Aliyu’s efforts in promoting cohesion and political stability.

He made the commendation during the two anniversary of the governor in office. He noted that while the governor has faced some shortcomings in certain sectors, his achievements far outweigh the challenges.

He said Governor Aliyu had made remarkable progress in multiple areas ensuring political cohesion and stability across the state. According to him, the governor’s initiatives in beautification projects, construction and improvement of township roads, rehabilitation of schools, and enhancement of public health services, had been commendable.

He emphasised the importance of unity and constructive dialogue, stating, “Our individual or political differences should be approached with respect and understanding.

“It’s crucial to avoid politicising insecurity, as our common enemies don’t discriminate in their attacks.”

He further stressed that prioritising Sokoto State’s interests and setting aside negative sentiments towards leaders would promote effective leadership and development, both in the state and the nation as a whole.

He also called on the public to refrain from using abusive language and engaging in mudslinging. Such behaviour, he said, could damage institutions and create disunity. Instead, he advocated for responsible and respectful discourse, with a focus on unity and constructive solutions.
