Former senator and chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party Board of Trustees (PDP BoT), Adolphus Wabara, has reassured party members and Nigerians across the country that the PDP will not die.
Speaking at the flag-off of the party’s online membership registration in Umuahia, Abia State, Wabara addressed growing concerns about the party’s weakened state amid prolonged internal leadership disputes. He stressed that the PDP had been repositioned for future electoral victories.
Overwhelmed by the number of party supporters who attended the event, Wabara stated: “The PDP can never die.” He highlighted ongoing efforts to resolve issues bedevilling the party and urged members to register en masse.

The event featured a stakeholders’ meeting and the inauguration of the Local Government Caretaker Committee leadership under the Kabiru Tanimu Turaki-led National Working Committee.
Wabara commended the Abia PDP Caretaker Committee Chairman, Hon. Ikpegbu Emeka-Yellow, for demonstrating strong leadership within less than a month in office.
He urged the committee and other leaders to avoid past mistakes, including godfatherism, and ensure equal opportunities for all party members to strengthen the PDP.
The BoT chairman concluded that with dedicated leadership and active participation from members, the PDP is poised for renewed growth and success in the upcoming elections.
