PDP: Abdulrahman, Anyanwu, others retain offices as Wike bloc holds convention amid legal battles

Amid legal battle over the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP), the bloc of the opposition loyal to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, last night held its convention and elected new members of the National Working Committee (NWC).

The convention held at the Moshood Abiola Stadium was attended by Wike, former governor of Jigawa, Sule Lamido, former Kwara State governor, Bukola Saraki and the former governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose

Also present were former Governors Ibrahim Dankwambo and Samuel Ortom of Gombe and Benue states respectively as well as the Senate Minority Leader, Abba Moro and his counterpart in the House of Representatives, Kingsley Chinda among others.

Delegates at the convention voted to affirm Abdulrahman Mohammed as national chairman and Senator Samuel Anyanwu as national secretary.

Others who also emerged through consensus at the various geo -political zones are Aaron Chukwuemeka, Deputy National Chairman (South); Yusufu Nya Akirikwen; Kolawale Olabisi, Deputy National Secretary;

Odeyemei Mackson Oladiran, National Treasurer, and Lado Dan Marke. Deputy National Treasurer,

Other positions are National Financial Secretary, Fyim Donatus Henry; Deputy National Financial Secretary, Dr. Grema Kyari; Umar Mohammed Bature, National Organising Secretary, Efere Augustine;

Deputy National Organising Secretary, Jungudo Haruna Mohammed National Publicity Secretary and Egwu Goodluck Chidiebere, Deputy National Publicity Secretary.

Also elected were Kamaldeen Ajibade, National Legal Adviser, Deputy National Legal Adviser, Aloysius Chinemelu Uba; Okechukwu Osuoha, National Auditor; Dr. Adaba Ozohu Seri Yatu; Deputy National Auditor;

Ibrahim Bala Abok, National Youth Leader; Momoh Dejih Eugene Bashirand Deputy National Youth Leader, Professor Ogunshe Adedayo, National Woman leader and Hauwa Ahmed Shinge, Deputy National Woman leader.

The convention organised by the National Caretaker Committee, has added a new twist to the crisis rocking the opposition party.
