The Nigerian Railway Corporation, (NRC) has appealed to passengers on board Warri-Itakpe train last week over the delay experienced enroute Warri with a promise to refund 100% ticket fare paid to board the train.
Director Operations, Nigerian Railway Corporation, Akin Osinowo said the train was enroute Warri from Itakpe before the glitz happened by 8.00pm hence passengers had to spend had to spend the night at Ajaokuta train station until early hours of the morning before they continued the journey.
He gave kudos to government and officials of Kogi State for providing adequate security at site of the glitz thereby giving passengers confidence of being secured throughout the period until another locomotive engine came to convey them to their various destinations.
Deputy Director, public relations, Yakub Mahmood, in a statement issued on behalf of management apologised to passengers for the glitz on train adding that work will be done on the system to ensure such glitz does not occur.
