Paris 2024: Zambia players promoted in National Army

Following their heroic performance in Rabat, the players of the Shepolopolo of Zambia have been promoted to the National Army of the country, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Despite suffering a 1-2 home defeat in the first leg played in Lusaka, the Zambians came back strongly in the second leg to qualify 2-3 on aggregate.

Barbra Banda netted a brace in Rabat to edge Morocco 2-0 and handed her team a passage to the ancient games.

Barbra Banda, Racheal Nachula, and Anita Mulenga were promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant

Ireen Lungu was promoted to Sergeant, Martha Tembo, and Lushomo Mweemba was also promoted by the Zambia National Army.

Most of the players in the male and female national teams of Zambia are serving Army officers in the country.
