The head coach of the Australian basketball team Sandy Brondello has declared her team’s readiness to confront Nigeria’s D’Tigress and others in the group, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Brondello announced the provisional list of 26 players on Wednesday and they are expected to resume camping next week for the ancient games.
The coach admitted that it would be difficult to pick the final roster for the tournament due to the calibre of players they had on the team.
She further said they recognized the strength of their opponents but were ready to give their best.
“Our squad is full of exceptional talent, and they will decide to pick a final 12 very difficult.
“We have Canada, Nigeria, and France in our pool and are ready, so we are focused on that and what is required to get onto the podium”, she said. The Aussies will face Nigeria in the opening group game.
