Team Nigeria athletes and their counterparts around the world will ride on boats when they file out for the Paris 2024 Olympics opening ceremony parade.
According to reports from L’Equipe, between 140 and 170 boats will transport around 10,000 athletes on the River Seine during the opening celebrations.
Nigerian athletes as well as others will be involved in a parade on a six-kilometre stretch of the Seine between the Pont d’Austerlitz and the Pont d’Iéna.
Meanwhile, a €1.4 billion (£1.2 billion/$1.5 billion) clean-up of the River Seine has begun with the goal of having it ready in time for the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games next year.
Team Nigeria was represented by 55 athletes and placed 74th at the end of the 2020 Tokyo Games with one silver and one bronze medals.
