Nigeria Surfing Federation has commended a France – based Organisation, Paddle Paddle for sponsoring the just concluded Surfing Sport Technical Training and Life Saving workshop held from August 15 to 21, 2022, at the Takwa Bay Beach, Victoria Island, Lagos.
Aside the sponsorship, Paddle Paddle Organisation also donated 30 quality Surfing boards to Nigeria to aid develop the water sport in the country.
The workshop which was meant for athletes and technical officials, was conducted by two foreign instructors, Mr. Shannon Ainslie, Norway based South African and Mr. Hans Van Den Broek from Netherlands. A total of 35 participants drawn from across the country took part in the weeklong exercise.
President of the Nigeria Surfing Federation, Prince Adewale Fawe and technical director, Mr. John Micheletti, praised Paddle Paddle for being a friend in need.
The climax of the event was a courtesy visit to the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC) by a delegation led by the president of the Nigeria Surfing Federation who was received by the NOC General Manager, Mr. Emmanuel Nweri who stood in for the secretary General, Mr. Olabanji Oladapo.
