The Oyo State Police Command has announced the deployment of comprehensive security measures across the state ahead of the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) organised by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
In a press statement issued on Thursday and signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ayanlade Olayinka, the Commissioner of Police directed the emplacement of robust security coverage at all Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres to ensure a safe, orderly and hitch-free examination process for candidates.
The Command disclosed that, beyond examination venues, enhanced visibility policing would be extended to major roads, communities and other critical points across the state. Officers assigned to stop-and-search duties have been instructed to remain proactive, professional and courteous while facilitating the smooth movement of candidates and other road users.

According to the statement, Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) and other supervisory officers have been tasked with ensuring effective security coordination within their respective jurisdictions. They are to take full responsibility for maintaining peace and preventing any untoward incidents before, during and after the examination period.
The Police Command reassured residents, particularly candidates, parents and guardians, of its commitment to safeguarding lives and property throughout the exercise. It also urged members of the public to cooperate with security agencies by providing timely and credible information that could aid in maintaining law and order.
While wishing candidates success in their examinations, the Command advised them to remain law-abiding throughout the period.
