Oyo Central Christian stakeholders have endorsed Ambassador Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo, the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) candidate for Oyo Central Senatorial District, alongside other candidates of the party, including Seyi Makinde and Bimbo Adekanmbi, ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The endorsement was announced during a meeting between Ajadi and Christian stakeholders in Oyo Central, where participants expressed support for the APM candidates and called for collective backing for the party’s candidates across the state.

Bishop Ademola Moradeyo, Chairman of the Oyo State Pilgrims Welfare Board (Christian Wing), said the stakeholders would support the APM candidates as members of the same political family. He emphasised that the endorsement covered Ajadi’s senatorial ambition and those of other candidates contesting under the party’s platform.

According to Moradeyo, the stakeholders’ position was to support the party’s candidates collectively rather than treat their individual ambitions separately, stressing that the candidates belonged to one political family.

Pastor Johnson Olabode, while explaining the reasons for supporting Ajadi, identified his relationship with the Christian community, the need for youthful representation and his record of activities as factors informing the endorsement.

Olabode said Ajadi was part of the church family and described him as a young candidate capable of providing the youthful representation the district needed. He added that Ajadi’s antecedents were sufficient grounds for stakeholders to consider supporting his senatorial ambition.

Addressing the gathering, Ajadi recalled his years of involvement in the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Oke Agbara, Oluwatedo, during his youth. He said he spent seven years in the church and participated in evangelism, joining activities that took the Christian message to different communities.

Ajadi’s reference to his time at CAC Oke Agbara highlighted his longstanding connection with the church community.

I am going to represent all Christians, Muslims and members of other faiths without bias or misrepresentation,” he said.

Following Ajadi’s remarks, Pastor Popoola Isaac Olusola stood up to pray for the APM candidate, committing his political aspiration to God and offering prayers for his success.

The endorsement adds to Ajadi’s engagement with community and religious stakeholders as he seeks to represent Oyo Central Senatorial District in the Senate. The stakeholders’ declaration also signals their stated intention to support other APM candidates, including Makinde and Adekanmbi, in the forthcoming elections.
