Former member of the House of Representatives, Dapo Lam-Adesina, has lauded the peaceful conduct of the All Progressives Congress (APC) state congress in Oyo and the subsequent election of new party executives.
On Tuesday, the party elected Moses Adeyemo, a former Deputy Governor of the state, as its Chairman. Adeyemo, who hails from Igboho in Oorelope Local Government Area, served as deputy to the late Governor Abiola Ajimobi from 2011 to 2019.
In a statement by his media office yesterday, he described the orderly conduct of the congresses, spanning ward, local government and state levels, as a clear indicator that the Oyo APC is fully prepared for the 2027 general elections. He noted that the emergence of Adeyemo, whom he described as a unifying factor, places the party in a strong position. He added that the chairman’s emergence through a consensus arrangement speaks volumes about the internal unity of the state chapter.
“Congratulations to our dear father and the new chairman of the APC in Oyo State. His emergence is, without doubt, the dawn of a new era for the party. He is bringing years of political and administrative experience to lead us to victory,” he said.
