From Laide Raheem, Abeokuta
The member representing Ipokia/Idiroko State Constituency in the Ogun State House of Assembly, Bisi Oyedele Citiside, who is also the APC House of Assembly candidate for the 2027 election, has declared that the emergence of Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola as the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and his eventual victory at the poll, will address the longstanding marginalisation of Ogun West Senatorial District.
The lawmaker noted that despite the enormous contributions of Ogun West to the political growth and stability of Ogun State, the district has continued to agitate for fair representation at the executive level.
Oyedele, who stated this while speaking with journalists at the weekend in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, described Adeola’s emergence as a reflection of the confidence reposed in him by party leaders and delegates across the state.
He said that the APC made a strategic decision in presenting Adeola as its flag bearer ahead of the 2027 governorship election, stressing that his familiarity with the people and consistent constituency outreach have placed him in a strong position to mobilise support across the three senatorial districts.

While congratulating the senator on his emergence, the lawmaker noted that his years of legislative experience at the national level, as well as grassroots political engagement, have earned him widespread acceptance across the state.
He added that the senator’s record at the National Assembly has attracted several developmental projects not only to Ogun West, but to the entire state, particularly in infrastructure, education, youth empowerment and community development.
He therefore called on APC stakeholders and residents of the state to support Adeola’s candidacy, emphasising the need for unity within the party ahead of the 2027 polls.
The lawmaker further stated that the election should focus on leadership capacity, economic growth, rural development, infrastructure expansion and youth empowerment.
