In the wake of the tragic killings of residents in the ancient town of Akinlalu, a community in Ife North area of Osun State, the campaign team of a governorship aspirant, the MD/CEO of National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, known as AMBO, has paid a condolence visit to the families of the victims and announced scholarships for the children of the victims.
During the visit on Monday, the AMBO movement announced that the scholarship would be covering their education from primary to tertiary levels. The movement also pledged to construct an ultramodern police division in the town to enhance security.
Oyebamiji expressed heartfelt sympathies to the families affected by the violence, emphasizing that the AMBO movement would do everything possible to support them. He assured the community that efforts would be made in collaboration with security agencies to ensure that those responsible for the killings are brought to justice.
“It is painful that the lives of promising young people, who represent the future of this town, were cut short in such a brutal manner. I assure you that the perpetrators will face the full consequences of their actions. We are committed to restoring peace in your community,” Oyebamiji said.

He also highlighted the support from former Governor of Osun and current Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, who is actively working to ensure that justice, is served, saying “We pray for God’s mercy on the families of the victims,” he added.
Oyebamiji further assured the community that a committee would be established to oversee the scholarship programme. He noted that children interested in vocational training would also receive support to help them succeed in their endeavors.
“This initiative is not about politics; it is a necessity,” he stressed. “We will also brief the Minister for additional assistance and ensure that the police post is constructed promptly to bolster safety in the area.”
The Alakinlalu of Akinlalu, Oba Israel Oyewale Aborisade, commended the AMBO Movement for their concern and support for the community.
Traditional leaders, including Chief Kamorudeen Oyebamiji, Chief Fatoye Sunday, and Akinlalu Youth Leader Comrade Adeboye Musibau, expressed their gratitude for Oyebamiji’s compassion and the swift actions taken by the movement.
They thanked the AMBO Movement for addressing their earlier requests for support and assistance, recognizing the importance of unity and solidarity in overcoming this tragic situation.
