Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has assured residents of Oworonshoki community of more human capital development and economic empowerment as a new traditional leader was installed.
Sanwo-Olu gave the assurance on Saturday during the official coronation ceremony of the new traditional leader, Oloworo Oba Babatunde Saliu, the Elebo II of Oworonshoki Land.
The governor, who was represented by Mr Bolaji Robert, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, said that the installation was in line with the registered declaration regulating the selection of Oba in Lagos state.
“I want to congratulate you once again Oba Saliu and the entire sons and daughters of Oworonshoki land.
“I assure you that this administration will continue to accord this community like all others the attention you deserve in terms of infrastructure, economic empowerment , human capital development and security,” he said.
He also commended the kingmakers, elders of Oworonshoki as well as the ruling houses for the peace and mutual understanding that characterised the process that led to the installation of the king.
He, however, advised residents of the community to rally round their new leader in achieving the peace, prosperity and progress that Oworo community deserved.

Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi; (Ọjájá II) the Ooni of Ife, while giving his remarks during the coronation congratulated the community for the new Oba.
Ogunwusi advised the sons and daughters of the community to rally round their new leader for progress, development and economic advancement.
Saliu, the new Elebo II of Oworonshoki in Kosofe Local Government of Lagos state, thanked the governor for starting the good work of roads rehabilitation in the community.
According to him, four major roads in the community have just been rehabilitated by the state government while work is ongoing on fixing the drains to curb flooding.
“We thank the state government for starting this great work in our area and we are still appealing for more infrastructural projects to ensure more developments in the community..
“Oworonshoki is home to over one million people but has been at the receiving end of an infrastructural deficit.
“Within a few months of my ascension, the Lagos state government has begun the rehabilitations of four roads in Oworonshoki.
“I commend the state government for this projects; I,however, want to use this medium to seek for more intervention in the rehabilitation of other key roads,” the Elebo II of Oworonshoki land said.
