The Nafisa Nasir Idris Charity Development Foundation (NANAS Foundation), in collaboration with the Kebbi State Ministry of Health, has commenced a three-day medical outreach for women in Argungu for over 2,000 patients.
The initiative are being organised by NANAS Foundation under the leadership of its Founder and Wife of the Kebbi State Governor, Hajia Nafisa Nasir Idris.
The outreach is designed to provide free medical services to women with gynaecological and obstetric conditions, as well as patients requiring treatment for other general health conditions.
Speaking with journalists during the exercise, the Kebbi State Commissioner for Health, Alhaji Yakubu Isma’il Augie, said the outreach was aimed at providing free healthcare services to vulnerable women who were screened and drawn from Kebbi North and Gwandu Local Government Areas.
He explained that the exercise would also include surgical procedures for patients diagnosed with conditions requiring surgery.
In his remarks, the Permanent Secretary, Kebbi State Ministry of Health, Dr. Zaki Abubakar, described the programme as a focused medical outreach centred on gynaecology and obstetrics.
He disclosed that about 2,000 patients were expected to undergo surgical procedures, while another 150 patients with other general health conditions, including diabetes, hypertension, typhoid and other ailments, would also receive medical attention.
Zaki commended the Kebbi State Ministry of Transportation for its support and commitment towards the successful implementation of the medical outreach.
Some of the beneficiaries who spoke during the exercise expressed appreciation to Dr. Nafisa Nasir Idris and the Kebbi State Ministry of Health for providing the free medical services. They prayed to Allah SWT to reward and bless the organisers for their humanitarian gesture.
