Our target is to make Anambra an investment destination in Nigeria, beyond – Soludo

Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has reiterated his vision and mission of turning the state into a destination for investment and tourism hub in Nigeria and beyond.

Soludo who stated this during an interactive session with journalists in Awka on Wednesday said the vision requires all hands on deck irrespective of class, background or state of origin while he is committed to the goals with utmost dedication and focus.

He said everyone living in Anambra, irrespective of socio-economic status, should join hands in developing the state and making it a destination point for significant investments in critical sectors.

The governor noted that his administration is fully prepared to ensure that Anambra remains the safest state in Nigeria and restated that the two newly established state security outfits “Agunechemba” and “Udo Ga Achi” operatives been unrelenting in the ongoing war against crime in the state.

He said, “The issue of ensuring a peaceful society is everybody’s business and not the government alone. Since the inauguration of the two local security outfits, you journalists can proudly attest that every resident now sleeps with their two eyes closed.

“I was not inspired to be governor of Anambra State to catch fun only but to make Anambra a peaceful, secure, livable and prosperous state for investors.

“My vision is to give Ndi-Anambra a focused and qualitative governance and to create the enabling environment for a public-private sector partnership, which is fundamental to the creation of an enduring economic development and individual prosperity of the people of the state.

“My mission is to improve citizens’ confidence and trust in government through transparent and accountable leadership. Improve the development of human capital through greater investment in qualitative education to focus more on the ongoing one youth, two skills acquisition programmes that have produced about 1,000 millionaires within a space of two years and 11 months of my administration, as well as an entrepreneurship programme for women and the elderly through my wife’s initiative, ‘Healthy living Initiative with Nonye Soludo’.

“My mission is to improve the ranking of Anambra state on the local and global ease of doing business index so as to promote and encourage local and foreign direct investment in the state.

“To also improve productivity, mobility and connectivity through the provision of adequate physical road infrastructure across the state, with particular emphasis on the rural areas. Work towards a higher level of prosperity, equity, fairness and justice for all. Improve the provision of primary health care to ensure availability to all Anambra citizens.”

According to him, his administration will continue to provide good, accountable governance through the provision of quality leadership to ensure that everyone living in Anambra State has a fulfilling livelihood.

“We must change the narrative; we must change the story for and reinvent our value system. The Anambra rebirth process where the values of hard work , excellence and entrepreneurship takes precedence over wealth without sweat. ” he stated.
