Chief Operating Officer of Seamfix, Frank Atube, has said the compan has impacted over 350million lives in its 15 years of existence with products and solutions, among them Nigerians.
Speaking during the celebration of the company’s 15 years anniversary, Atube said the company has taken part in several corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives, the most recent of which was a collaboration with Slum2School to transform classrooms into early childhood and development centres for children in Tarkwa Bay, Lagos.
He recalled that Seamfix began in the living rooms of two daring individuals with the sole goal of solving important problems and bringing ease to the lives of others.
He said the firm expanded from few men operation in a living room to a global corporation with over 200 employees spread across multiple geographies, adding that they were the first software development company in Africa to receive ISO 27701:2019 PIMS certification among other things.
He said since its inception in 2007, the company had provided outstanding technology-driven services to telecommunications companies, government agencies, financial institutions and educational institutions.
Atube said the company collaborated with two leading financial institutions in 2008 to develop school management solutions for tertiary education as they were also one of six Sun Microsystems Certified Partners, later renamed Oracle Partners in West Africa
“MTN Nigeria, Nigeria’s largest telco operator, was fined by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) in October 2015 for the delay in blocking the lines of over 5.2 million subscribers who had poor or incorrect SIM registration data captured by the telco. While discussing the fine with the NCC, MTN had to solve the problem of bad SIM registration data and fix it so that it wouldn’t happen again or as frequently, especially on such a large scale.”
MTN then approached Seamfix to implement a KYC solution — BioSmart to replace her existing systems and assist in resolving this massive challenge,” he said.
He said the company had established itself in the United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates and Uganda, enrolling over 180 million individual identities into functional and foundational databases.
