Luba FC continued their encouraging start to the year with a 2–1 victory over WillyJoe 17 FC in a friendly match played today at the Legacy Practice Pitch.
The opening goal arrived in the 28th minute, and once again it came from an unlikely but increasingly familiar source. Centre back Tunde Otuyemi stepped up to give Luba FC the lead, making it two goals in two games for the defender and underlining his growing influence at both ends of the pitch.
WillyJoe 17 FC responded after the interval and were rewarded in the 64th minute when Henry converted from the penalty spot, bringing the friendly contest back to level terms.
As the match wore on, Luba FC maintained composure and defensive discipline. Their persistence paid off in the 86th minute when Agboola Olatidoye struck the decisive goal, sealing a deserved win for the hosts.
The result follows Luba FC’s earlier friendly on February 8 against Stowe FC, which ended 1–1 after Otuyemi scored a dramatic 90th-minute equaliser. Across both matches, the centre back has emerged as a key figure, combining defensive solidity with crucial attacking contributions.
For Luba FC, the friendly served as another important step in building cohesion, confidence, and momentum ahead of upcoming engagements.
