Otu’s reelection bid gains momentum as group launches grassroots drive

The reelection bid of the Cross River State governor Senator Bassey Otu has gained a  major boost  as an initiative  tagged Grassroots initiative for Otu/Odey has been launched to drive the process.

Director General of the initiative, Awade Friday, said the essence of the initiative is to unite people, sensitize citizens at every grassroots level and build consensus around Otu/Odey b leadership.

According to him, “Under Governor Otu  administration, Cross River State has witnessed measurable progress across key sectors.

“Importantly, this government has taken decisive steps to safeguard and reclaim state assets, including the recovery of Tinapa Business Resort from Amcon after 14 years of control.

“Cross River State as it is today is safer than even Nigeria. It  is safer than any state in the country right now and you can sleep with your eyes closed and your doors open.”

The DG  also listed a number of achievements of the governor saying all these have earned him notable honours including “The Sun Newspaper Governor of the Year Award.”

Speaking on the initiative’s support for the deputy governor, Dr. Peter Odey, the DG said  he has proven to be a very loyal deputy  and his loyalty should be studied by every young man or woman who wants to progress politically.

He said  across the state, citizens are speaking with one clear voice,  want continuity of purpose, stability in governance and sustained development that improves their daily lives.

The initiative, he said, is committed to this cause and will implement it to the  latter to ensure the success of the Otu/Odey reelection come 2027.
